Leaving the force for good? Become a force for good!

How can you use the skills and experience you’ve developed in the Police to transform the lives of children and young people?

Affinity Fostering has partnered with Blue Light Leavers because we know that people who have served in the Police have many of the skills and attributes that vulnerable children need in their Foster Carers.

Blue Light Leavers was set up by Andy Labrum and seeks to support and inspire those who are looking to establish a new career outside of the Police Force. Affinity Fostering count both ex- and serving Police Officers amongst our population of Foster Carers.

Andy Robins, Director of Affinity and former Police Officer himself, believes many of the driving motivations for Police Officers are met in fostering.

As a Foster Carer you can make a significant difference in the lives of children and interrupt generational cycles of neglect and abuse. I really believe that fostering done well has the power to reduce the burden on the justice system in the long term.”

What skills and attributes do Affinity Fostering look for in their Foster Carers?
