Summer Reading Challenge

Silly Squad

Presented by The Reading Agency and funded by Arts Council England, the Summer Reading Challenge encourages children aged 4 to 11 to set themselves a reading challenge to help prevent the summer reading 'dip'. The Silly Squad summer campaign will see The Reading Agency working with ambassadors to promote a new digital challenge platform to reach children across the nation.

This year, Silly Squad, the Summer Reading Challenge 2020, will celebrate funny books, happiness and laughter. Children taking part in the Challenge will join the Silly Squad, an adventurous team of animals who love to have a laugh and get stuck in to all different kinds of funny books!

So enter the challenge by joining the Silly Squad- pick your avatar, discover awesome books to read, play games earn points and more, and unlock badges throughout the challenge!

 

Make Me a Genius (Youtube channel)

Make me a Genius

This brilliant Youtube channel with over 340,000 subscribers is filled with videos that cover a variety of subjects, such as physics for kids, photosynthesis, the nervous system, solar system and electricity, with entertaining videos from “A short Biography of Abraham Lincoln” to “Types of Clouds” to “What is Friction”, all of the videos are kid-friendly and will keep even your youngest children interested from start to finish.

Samaritans Samarathon July 2020

Welcome to Samarathon

 

This July, run, jog or walk 26.2 miles, whenever and wherever you like. You don’t need to be a marathon runner to take part in Samarathon. Take on 26.2 miles in your own time and pace to help Samaritans save lives.

Getting out and exercising works wonders for our mental wellbeing, and Samarathon is the perfect goal. Whatever your age or ability, this is your challenge, to do in your time, at your pace, wherever you live or work.

Sign up free, on your own or as a team with your family, friends or whoever you like. Walk, jog or run 26.2 miles over the month of July. Ask everyone you know to sponsor you, and help Samaritans be there for anyone struggling to cope.
