World Mental Health Day 2020

Today is World Mental Health Day, a day of advocacy, education and awareness. Mental health has a significant impact on the day to day lives of children and adults; and the impact of Covid19 and the associated lockdown will have a lasting impact.

Here at Affinity Fostering we understand the importance and impact of mental health, and work hard to provide the Affinity Family members with the support and resources they need.   As part of our ongoing training commitment our staff have just completed Young People and Mental Health Training.

We recently released a selection of self care and mental health support materials for our foster carers and the young people in our care to help them support themselves and those around them with their mental health.  We identified small every day activities that could help them introduce self-care in to their daily routines.

We have included parts of the booklets below, additionally there are range of excellent resources for improving mental health in the below links.
